About your practitioner
I initially trained as a professional violinist, as which I travelled extensively performing in this country and abroad, my most recent trip being an 11 day stint in Bahrain playing in a production of (what else!) The Sound of Music! It was as a musician that I developed a keen interest in postural work through Alexander technique, which I've been practising for over 20 years. It's my own 'Osteopathic take' on Alexander technique that I use in my treatments and selfcare plans.
I changed tack in 1999 when I decided to re-train as a massage therapist which I did in parallel with my music for a while. I extended and continued my studies in 2001 at The British College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) from where I graduated in 2005 with a BSc in Osteopathic and Naturopathic Medicine. Since then I've also trained in Cranial Osteopathy, modern acupuncture (also known as dry needling), ultrasound therapy and orthotic prescription (shoe inserts with arch supports). With this very wide skills base, I believe that I am able to provide truly holistic healthcare 'from head to toe'!
Since graduating I've gained invaluable varied experience working in Osteopathic practices in Maldon (Essex), Hemel Hempstead, Edgeware, Kings Cross and Camden and treated all sorts of patients including celebrities such as Caroline Quentin, Alexander Armstrong and Alison Steadman.
In January 2009 I opened the Alexander Osteopathic (Alexander being my middle name) and have been building the practice ever since!
